BACK TO THE BETHEL

By Timothy Femi Abiodun

Text: Gen. 35:1-7 –

“And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went.”
Before a New Beginning comes, we must go back to the altar. The altar is where every journey of life begins; thus, any deviation can be corrected by going back to the altar. The Altar or Bethel is our meeting point with God, a place where all strange gods are done away with. Bethel is the place where we first met God and He showed Himself mighty in your life. Bethel is where we first received our salvation, a place where everything became new. 2 Cor. 5:17 says – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. We became a New Creation in Christ.” From our above Text, Jacob was running as a fugitive from his brother and as he fell asleep he had a Divine Encounter with God. He saw a ladder with angels ascending and descending from Heaven; God Promised to be with him in his journey. Upon waking from his sleep, he set up an altar and called the place Bethel – The House of God. God has a timetable for your life, this is why we must always go back to our Bethel Altar. John 15:5 says without Him we can do nothing. Revelations 2:4-5 charges us to go back to our first love; invariable telling us to go back to Bethel so as to have a New Beginning. Going to Church is a form of getting back to Bethel to meet with God for a fresh start. Bethel is the place of reconnecting back to our source. Many are experiencing dryness because they have abandoned their Bethel. Heb. 12:22-24 says “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.” Our attitude and lifestyles many times made us to back the altar rather than facing the altar. Obadiah 1:17 says “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.” There is Mercy upon the altar. God always shows His Mercy when we return to Bethel. Righteousness and Holiness is waiting for you as you return back to The Altar of God. God does beyond our expectations as we return to our Bethel. Eph. 3:20. God makes the impossible possible as you return to Bethel. He also prospers your way mentally and spiritually. Lev. 10:1-2 is a sad account of those that were careless by offering a strange fire before The Lord.

What Makes Men Turn Their Back To The Altar

  • Our Sin – Isaiah 59:1-2
  • Your non-involvement in things of God. Matt. 10:30
  • Walking against the will of God in The Church
  • Bring Worldliness to Bethel or learning the culture of the heathen Jer. 10:2
Benefits Waiting for You at The Altar
  • God will arise and have Mercy – Psalm 102:13
  • God will pity and help you – Romans 9:15, Psalm 103:13
  • God takes away our pains and gives us a New Beginning.
  • God makes a way where there seems to be no way; He does the unusual for you. Isa. 43:18-19
  • God takes over your battle when you come to His Presence. Exod. 2
  • There are blessings in Bethel
  • There is healing in Bethel
In closing, the enemy does not want you to have a New Beginning, he wants to keep you stagnated. In Luke 15 when the prodigal Son came back to his senses, he returned back to His Father (Bethel) and He was restored and had a New Beginning. Take care of your altar of worship, prayer, study and meditation on The Word of God and you will see a New Glorious Beginning!

DIVINELY RESTORED

By Timothy Femi Abiodun

Scripture: Joel 2:25

Restoration comes when a review of the past activities is carried out. When God says He will restore, He means He is going into your past to see those waste that have decayed. Good news: God knows about the pains of the past. He saw you while you struggled and at the end of the day could not break even. God knows about those wasted dreams, He knows about those investments that went down the drain…He knows about those relationships that failed after much investments…He saw the places where your hopes were dashed! Now He says, ‘I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…” Believe it!

The losses of many years can be converted into gain by the Lord in just a moment of time. If you don’t believe me ask from Peter. He has toiled all through the night without a single catch, but when he met with God the restorer, in just a moment he had the kind of catch he had never had in all his fishing life. There is someone reading this message now, the kind of profit you have never made all your life, God is pushing you into it in Jesus name.

The ashes of the past can become the beauty of today and the glory of tomorrow. This is my prayer for you, as I received this message from the Lord. I say it again that God will turn the ashes of your past to beauty and a glory for your tomorrow in Jesus name. I declare to you by the spirit of God that your time of divine restoration is now in Jesus name. There is someone weeping as he is reading through this message now, because of the many disappointments of the past; I have God’s leading to pray for you that henceforth, no more disappointments in Jesus name.

I have just three prayer points for you today; please pray each one seven times and the God of restoration will prove himself faithful in your life. I love you and I always pray for you!

PRAYERS

1. Father, visit my past. Whatever should have been gain to me that I lost, convert it now to gain for me in Jesus name.

2. Father, take the ashes of my yesterday, process it and turn it to beauty for me. Let the testimony emanating from it become a glory for my tomorrow in Jesus name.

3. Father, from today, shield my life from the activities of locusts and every form of destroyers in Jesus name.

Title : Do You Want to Be Weary and Faint? By Timothy Olufemi Abiodun

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31”

The prophet Isaiah noticed two kinds of people in his walk with God: those who depended on themselves and those who depended on God. Those who depend on themselves wear out and faint along the way, but those who depend on God are given renewed strength. This renewed strength makes them soar like eagles, they run and don’t wear out or get tired, and they walk and do not faint. Dear beloved, you must choose between relying on your own strength and waiting on God. Depend on His Word for everything, even though sometimes you may have to fast to empower your spirit to be more receptive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Make time to always fellowship with God so that you can be enabled to know and do what He requires from you each day.

ATTRACTING THE BLESSINGS YOU HAVE NOT ASKED FOR. By Timothy Olufemi Abiodun

1Kings 3:9-13
Dear Brethren, this message is being presented so that we can be what we are supposed to be before God Almighty. I need to let you know that God is real. God is a loving God and God is interested in the affairs of your life. God is a Father, who cares for His children. God wants you and I to please Him with the way we live this life that He has given unto us. If you please your earthly father, there are things he can do to reciprocate your good behaviour, without your asking. The same is true of our Almighty Father. There is a life you can live, for God to start to bless you in some very special ways.
There are some important questions that will be addressed in this message. For example, “what kind of life can you live for God, your Father, to bless you in a marvelous way”?. How can you live your Christian life, that even before you utter a prayer, God would have answered? What type of a person must you be or how can you live close to God in such a way, that blessings will be pursuing your life without struggling?. These are some of the questions that serious Christians will ask if they think deep about the story of King Solomon as recorded in 1 Kings 3 vs. 9-13 “Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of yours. The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon has asked this thing. Then God said to him: Because you have asked this thing and have not asked long life for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice. Behold, I have done according to your words, see I have given you a wise and understanding heart so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you. I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked for…”
Beloved, can this King Solomon’s story be true? Can God look at you and say, “that which you have not asked for I have given you?”. Is it possible for God to bless you, without your labouring for hours in prayers?. Can you please God with the type of things that you ask in your prayers, in such a way that God, will not only answer your prayers, but will go beyond your prayers to grant you other things that you have not asked for?. Dear brethren, all these are possible. Our God is a great Father, who can bless His children beyond what they have requested for in prayers. Ephesians 3:20.
Beloved, how can you have that Potiphar’s type of experience in our own home and life?. What type of help can you render to others for God to locate you for special assistance?. How can you and live please God with our lives that God will be blessing people around us?. You may be a child of God that is reading this message. I want you to start to ask yourself if your Christian life is attracting blessings to you and to others around you. Are the people around you and those associated with you being blessed by God because of you?. If not, why not?. When people associate with your life, do you influence them for good or for bad, or does your association with others bring blessings or curses to others?. These are issues that you need to be concerned with in your Christian life. There are many Christians in our country, but what is level of influence that we are having upon our nation and society?.
Let us consider another incident in the Bible that is related to our current focus. If this incident had happened today, where there was an advertisement that the “General Overseer” of “Elijah’s Church” was about to select a replacement of himself. One can presume what the scenario will be, and what some pastors would have done. If some so called ‘Pastors’ can bribe their way there, they surely will, and, if they have to ‘kill’ or bastardize other, they would do exactly that, just for them to become the “General Overseer”. It is an unfortunate reflection on the low state of many so called ‘men and women’ of God, acting as ‘Pastors’ in many of our so-called ‘Pentecostal Churches’ today. . See what happened in I Kings. 19:19-20. “So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth, then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you” and he said to him. “Go back again, for what have I done to you”.(NKJV).
Dear reader, times have changed from the time of Elijah and Elisha to this time. Today, if the mantle of Elijah had been put up for ‘sale’, many will struggle to buy it. But in this story, here we find Elisha, who was committed to farming. He was not looking for the mantle of Elijah, and there was nothing to suggest that he ever prayed that he becomes the successor of Elijah. Yet, God located him and commanded Elijah to place the mantle of succession upon Elisha. I Samuel 16 s. 7 says : “ … for the Lord seeth not as the man seeth; for the man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart”. Beloved, God has a special plan for your life. God can promote you to a height that you never thought that you could reach in life. This same God can give you blessings that you have not asked for.

Ready for Blessings

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars. Chronicles 16:9”

Devotion : Is it not beautiful to read that God is always ready to bless His children? In fact, He is looking for whom to bless-the one whose heart is perfect toward Him. Jesus Christ reinforced this point when He said blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8). A pure heart is the perfect heart God is looking for because He is a holy God. It is time for us to set ourselves apart unto God by using our spirits, souls, and bodies solely for God’s purposes. We should also walk in wisdom and never be influenced by the dictates of the world. On the other hand, if we don’t set ourselves apart unto God and instead allow our hearts to be corrupted, then we will experience an abundance of trouble and challenges. Let’s get ourselves ready because God is about to show Himself in a mighty way in our lives. Praise the Lord.

Why Must You Put Your Trust in God

They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever. Psalm 125:1″

Some people put their confidence in idols and others in personality, knowledge, money, etc. Psalm 20:7. All of these will pass away; they don’t have the power to save the human soul. On the other hand, those who trust God and put their trust in the Holy Scriptures shall be like Mount Zion, which cannot be removed but abides forever. Mount Zion is the dwelling place of God, so those who trust God and our Lord Jesus Christ will be in the presence of God, which lasts forever. If you have put your trust in the Holy Scriptures and it seems things are not going in your favour, the opening scripture should encourage you to move on because God is with you and you will never be shaken or removed. Hallelujah! Dear beloved, what did you learn from this gospel?
